With some Capital District residents still waiting for word from relatives days after Hurricane Gilbert swept across the Caribbean, one of them has started a local relief drive for Jamaicans left homeless by the storm.
Reports were emerging Sunday of local residents whose vacations and honeymoons turned into disaster - eating meals assembled from the food that remained in hotels or stores, and taking water from a swimming pool.
Some would not talk about their vacation problems because they felt they were insignificant compared with what the residents of the islands are living with.
